BE STRONG -Joshua 1:9

THE TRUTH BEHIND THE SCRIPTURE There are those times when the burdens in life seem so great that we can become very discouraged.  Joshua 1:9 teaches us where to look daily in our lives to avoid becoming discouraged or fearful when times get tough.  God is reminding us that he has commanded us to be 1) STRONG which, in Hebrew, also means to be firm, grow firm, be resolute.   2) Be COURAGEOUS which, in Hebrew, also means to be determined, to make oneself alert, strengthen oneself, confirm oneself, persist in, prove superior.  3) We are not to be AFRAID which, in Hebrew, also means not to  tremble, dread, fear, oppress, be terrified, cause to tremble.  4)  Neither are we to become DISCOURAGED which, in Hebrew, also means to be shattered, be dismayed, be broken. The greatest encouragement we can have is believing the last part of the verse every time we are faced with a trial in life.  "The Eternal God is with you wherever you go".  But we must do our part in being STRONG and COURAGEOUS, a
