As the name suggests, this is one tough cookie. It’s a sparse looking plant, yet yields a consistent nice bulb underneath. Seemingly bred for its tried-and-true ability to show up after each winter. Most character is found in its raw state and lost when cooked, so I recommend that less is more when it comes to cooking it.
