Reading Catch-Up 2nd Grade Camp Fall 24 Nina Jones2nd GradeSep 26 - Nov 7Thursdays3:15pm - 4:15pm(No camp Oct 10) $125 Literacy skills need a boost? Direct, comprehensive literacy instruction can do the trick! Get back into the swing of school by sharpening those reading skills in our first round of reading camp. This session will also be paired with intense phonic lessons using the Orton Gillingham methodology. This approach focuses on phonological awareness, sound identification, decoding/encoding, vocabulary and fluency. Students will learn to become better readers through multi-sensory experiences and direct instruction. We will also use a variety of fiction and nonfiction texts to explicitly teach comprehension strategies that your child can apply when reading independently. Each week’s lesson will mirror classroom instruction so learning will be enhanced. Get your child off to a great start this school year. Let’s set them up for success! All camps are non-refundable.
