This nimble pintail is our version of a performance-style longboard, designed with speed generation and maneuverability in mind, while remaining suitable for mellow surf. The Root excels in a myriad of conditions, having the speed and control to handle zippier beach breaks or the bigger stuff—plus the volume to catch all the waves you want on a small day.  The Root features a moderate rocker, allowing for later and steeper drops than a log. Full volume in the center provides the float you need to paddle with ease, while the tapered, down rails bite into steeper faces, generate speed, and encourage quick transitions from rail to rail. The slight concave under the nose begs for a cheater five, or (for the better balancers) a full ten over. A pulled in
