Bojo do Luar Borrado, 750ml

This 100% Espadeiro was expertly sourced by Rui Paiva, nephew of Biodynamic producer Fernando Paiva, from his 20-year-old vines in Felgueiras, located in the Vinho Verde area. The harvest was a family affair, with three generations - Rui, his 80-year-old father, and his nephew - handpicking grapes and transporting them to the Bojo do Luar cellar, 7km away, in 20kg boxes. Once at the cellar, the grapes were destemmed and placed in 100-year-old amphoras, or "ta/has," where they were foot-stomped. To each amphora, 1kg of ground chestnut flowers was added and thoroughly mixed. The natural fermentation process began after four days and continued for one month.
