Texas Chili Con Carne Seasoning - “Chili Con Carne” originated in San Antonio, Texas during the 1880’s and was designated the official dish of the State of Texas by their House Legislature in 1977. It was originally served by “Chili Queens” in the 1880’s which eventually evolved into “Chili Parlors” as early as 1904. Chili Con Carne is taken very seriously by Texans and IS a dice beef chile with no beans.
