Delicata Winter Squash - Organic

Description: One of our favorite winter squashes, we grow this every year! We first heard about this variety many years ago when reading a cookbook. The author noted that if one was to ever find this uncommon variety at a farmer's market, it should be bought immediately. More common now, but what you get in stores cannot compare. The fruits are elongated and average about 7 to 10 inches in length. Heirloom. Organic seed. Days to Maturity: 100 Approximate seeds per pack: 25 History: First introduced by Peter Henderson Company of New York in 1894. This variety quickly became a preferred squash and maintained its popularity thru the 1920's until it fell out of favor around the time of the Great Depression
