SuperDuty Moly™ calcium sulfonate moly grease tube 14 oz cartridge refills for grease guns provide high temperature, extreme pressure and water resistance protection serving as a superior heavy duty grease to a wide range of automotive, construction and industrial applications. Common applications include roller bearing, cv joint, tie rod, steering linkage, suspension, drive shaft splines, fifth wheel, axle, universal joint, ball joint, conveyor lubrication, valve assembly, king pin, chassis, transmission gear, farm equipment, railroad track switch, mining and electric motor bearings. This grease is designed to meet the heavy shocking loading requirements of many heavy industrial, construction (OEM) and mining equipment. SuperDuty Moly™ is a calcium sulfonate based grease formulated with high quality base oils and fortified with 5% molybdenum disulfide coupled with a special additive package providing a higher film strength with anti-wear properties. The addition of 5% molybdenum disulfide provides this grease with an added armor-like film of lubricating solids. SuperDuty Moly™ molydbendum grease is specifically engineered to leave behind “sheet like” layers of moly film for added protection during these instances; very similar to trying to run on a floor covered in baseballs cards. This provides fantastic overall protection against high temperatures and extends service life in parts subjected to extreme pressures and heavy shock loading. This grease will not easily washout under intense water ingress, allowing it to help prevent the formation of rust and corrosion. Unlike lithium-complex greases, which need a significant amount of antimony-zinc or other types of additives, calcium-sulfonate thickeners have “inherent” extreme-pressure and anti-wear properties. Sulphonates are known to be natural rust inhibitors, while lithium-complex based greases invariably require rust-inhibiting additives to match the natural performance capabilities found within sulphonates. Why is Calcium Sulfonate A Superior Grease? A careful comparison is often made between lithium-complex and calcium-sulfonate greases that typically show calcium-sulfonate greases hold a clear advantage. Calcium-sulfonate greases out-perform lithium-complex greases both on the data sheet, as well as in actual applications. The most important difference between these two types of grease is that calcium-sulfonate greases do not typically need additives to meet certain performance requirements as compared to lithium-complex greases. In addition, calcium-sulfonate greases often exhibit superior mechanical and shear stability compared to lithium-complex greases, indicating less leakage and run-out during operation. The dropping point and high-temperature life of calcium-sulfonate greases are also better, allowing these greases to at higher temperatures. By virtue of its thickener property, calcium sulfonate provides excellent water-resistance properties and does not break down even in the presence of water. To improve their water-resistance, lithium-complex greases usually require tackifiers, which are prone to deplete quickly in the presence of water. Calcium-sulfonate greases are also compatible with lithium and lithium-complex greases. This has since led to many customers making the switch from lithium complex to calcium sulfonate-based greases in recent years, as demand for lithium raw materials continue to rise exponentially do to global market demands needed throughout consumer electronic lithium ion batteries as well as the electronic vehicles (EV’s) space.
