Crown Porcelain Colonial Dames Bowl

    The company originally name was Crown Pottery Company of Evansville and later the name was changed to Crown Potteries Company. The company operated from 1891 to 1955. The Crown Potteries Co. produced a wide range of pottery products of high-quality porcelain and semi-porcelain dinnerware. This bowl’s hallmark was, used on majolica, ironstone, semi-porcelain, and white granite. The hallmark on the bottom of this bowl is “Colonial Dames by Crown” and on each side of these words is the number “8” (left) and “36” (right). The “Colonial Danes” is the name of the series. (I think) The eight stands for the eighth month, (August) and the 36 is the year the bowl was made, in this case it is 1936. The gold number “3507” stamp on top of the final glaze is the pattern number which is “Petit Point” pattern. There is an emboss design around the top of the bowl on the inside. This bowl has one fleabite on the underside of the rim and a small, stained crack on the rim that is about 0.75” long on
