Religious Jesus and Mary Plate
These vintage plates, produced by the W. S. George Pottery Company in the late 1930s or early 1940s, are known as the “Heart of Jesus and Virgin Mary” plates, sold individually rather than as a set. The company, which operated from 1904 to 1960, was a prominent American pottery manufacturer with facilities in Ohio and Pennsylvania. The plates feature a hallmark with a painter’s palette and a large “S” for Sabin, along with the inscription “Made in U.S.A” and “Warranted 22k.” The Jesus plate has a stained chip and a hairline crack, while the Mary plate has a hairline crack, both with minimal wear to the 22k gold rim. The 1950 Crest-O-Gold series by the same company also featured images of Jesus and Mary, with a different hallmark and a larger size.
