(Hordeum vulgare); Heritage; 6-rowed; Hulled; Awned; a New York State Connection variety; Fall-planted Hudson's short compact spikes are borne aloft on strong straw and thresh easily by hand. Plants are short, vigorous, hardy and early maturing. A 6-rowed, awned winter barley cultivar it was developed by Neal F. Jensen at the New York Agriculture Experiment Station in 1949 and released as a winter-hardy feed barley adapted to northern growing areas.
