This is the first time I've ever seen these beautiful beads! They are so amazing - each one has a little flash of starry sparkle. Both sapphire and ruby are are a variety of the mineral Corundum. A ruby is considered a Star Ruby when a three-point or six-point asterism, or "star" appears within the stone.
