Rodeo Boys – Home Movies – New LP
it seems funny that everyone mentions the heavy use of country twang on this album...sure it's there, but no more than thousands of other rock n roll albums that nobody took the time to mention the country twang...the fact is hillbilly twang was part of rock n roll from the beginning...clearly part of Elvis and Chuck Berry and everyone else (and clearly rural and hillbilly was also part of grunge decades later)..in fact, naming music rock n roll was always just a lame attempt to claim white people had invented something when really they were just putting playing rhythm & blues...and if rock n roll was something else, the only thing one could say is that it was a mix of rhythm & blues and hillbilly (but if someone thinks of country as a invention of strictly white people, they are completely ignorant of reality)...anyway, don't let all the mention of twang pull you in or push you away...this is a rock n roll album. And a pretty damn good one. Michigan rocks! -- winch Home Movies
