The Rubinoos 1976!!! Black and Red vinyl.  Unheard recordings. Pure Rubinoos, but this catches these California brats in a more rough and tumble mode rolling, the covers showing exactly where they were coming from, straight from black music and white-bread versions of that music, from the bubblebum of the DeFranco Family (1973), The Archies (1969) and early Beatles, as well as Jonathan Richman's "Government Center" (they'd played on Richman's version), going into rocking instrumental mode with covers of The Meters (1969) and "Walk Don't Run" (done by Johnny Smith and Chet Atkins in the 1950s but clearly this version is coming from the 1960 version by the Ventures), and a mash up of King Curtis's 1967 "Memphis Stew" with a 1970s Pepsi jingle, complete with cuss words a plenty helping to show how crazy this was, likely trying to show their love for the past and not ignoring the black music but making sure they weren't some retro Beatlemania-type crap, the crazy mash-up followed with
