The Arapaho Blackberry Shrub (Rubus spp. 'Arapaho') is a deciduous erect, rounded in shape, early-ripening (self-supporting plant, requiring no trellis) thornless shrub that produces large glossy red and black fruit. The berries are firm and tasty with small seeds. A self fertile variety, meaning it does not require another type of blackberry for pollination. however, planting more than one does increase berry production. Berries yield on the second year canes, typically mid-June, the earliest thornless blackberry to ripen. Grows at a slow to medium rate, from 12" to 24" per year.
