The Moorpark Apricot tree (Prunus 'Moorpark') is a small deciduous fruiting tree. Leaves are broad-oval, In early spring pink-tinged white blossoms appear followed by flavorsome, yellow-orange fruit with a red flush, ripening in mid- to late July to early August. Moorpark is a self-fertile variety, however, planting more than one tree will increase yields. Fruit is large, smooth, freestone apricots with fuzz-less, deep yellow skin and deep orange flesh. Uses: Besides the delicious fruit, Moorpark is also considered an attractive landscape tree, with its spring bloom of whitish-pink flowers. Great for fresh eating, canning or drying. The tree has a golden orange fall color. This tree grows at a fast rate, with height increases of more than 24" per year.Plant in full sun, in acidic, loamy, moist, rich, sandy, silty loam and well-drained soil. It is not drought-tolerant.
