Peppermint (Mentha Piperita) Essential Oil
Peppermint is a naturally occurring hybrid of spearmint and watermint and one of the most widely cultivated herbs on the planet. Today it is mostly known for its breath-freshening prowess and as a culinary seasoning. It is commonly used in mouthwashes, toothpastes and of course, the ultimate candy king, peppermint hard candies. This is only part of the story though and it could be said that peppermint is part of that body of ancient knowledge that has almost been forgotten. Archeologists tell us that the positive effects of this wonderous herb on the body and mind have been known since the times of the Assyrians.
