This photograph was taken at a high shutter speed which helped freeze the snowflakes. This changes the overall effect and sharpens the image and preserves detail. This is my favorite ways to photograph snow that is in a general free fall without being blown about by the wind. The detail is especially evident when the image is printed on a matte paper.
