Description Fragrant and floral with notes of orange blossom, grape, lemon and cherry, Yirgacheffe is the most prized East African coffee. When roasted to a medium level, it has a delicate body and lingering finish. This fair trade organic coffee is sourced from family-owned farms located in the Wenago district within the Ethiopian Gedeo Zone. The cooperative currently has over 500 members and in 2011, joined the Yirgacheffe Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union (YCFCU), an umbrella organization established to support a sustainable coffee supply from cooperatives in the Gedeo ethnic region of Ethiopia. Fair trade funds are used for bridge construction, school construction and electricity transmission infrastructure.
