The 5-string open back Deering Goodtime is our most popular banjo and an excellent value for a beginning or intermediate picker looking to get into the banjo world. The Artisan Goodtime Two takes the popular design and adds a resonator, which produces a louder, more focused tone that works well for bluegrass. Other upgrades include the Midnight Maple fretboard, which is created using a unique staining process developed by Deering; fancier inlays and an armrest. Like its open back sibling, it features a 3-ply maple rim that produces a clear, ringing tone. The Goodtime tailpiece is Deering’s own design and the tension hoop is rolled in-house from raw metal.
