This glass square helps to illustrate a convection current in a liquid. To observe this current, fill the frame with water and dye and heat it at the bottom corner with a heat source. Convection currents are then seen as the dye is moved through the glass tube, similar to the circulation of a hot water system. Heat source and support stand are not included.
