The Strong Arm Merkin Crab was designed in the Florida Keys to imitate the shape and profile of a fleeing crab. This fly has become a top permit fly on every flat where anglers chase permit. Our custom Strong Arm Merkin Crabs are tied in Guanaja using Umpqua's X-Series Flats hook in #2 & #4 in our two most popular colors. Our tan crab features a white claw with a tan body and matching tan and orange tipped sili legs. Our white version features a white claw and body with white and hot orange tipped sili legs. These are tied in limited quantities.
