Yamaha Studio Lord - SL400S - 1979

A gorgeous Yamaha Cherry Burst LP Studio Lord from 1979/80.  A fine specimen of the 1980 Yamaha Studio Lord model SL-400s.  This Studio Lord is finished in a classy cherryburst. Great finish and has held up amazing which speaks to its quality of finish. The body is mahogany, with a top that could be ash or agathis, maybe. It is not unduly heavy for a Les Paul, coming in at a little under 9 ½ pounds.  This guitar features a 3-piece top, 3-piece body, 2 piece maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard.  The neck is nicely rounded, is between the 50s and 60s style Les Pauls as far as feel. It is straight with plenty of life left in the frets. It has a medium- low action and it plays like a dream. Everything original on this guitar. The wiring is tidy and the pickups and knobs appear to be OEM. The tailpiece shows no pitting and the tuning pegs have a nearly no signs of oxidization. As this is a 35-year-old guitar, its in excellent condition with practically no blemishes or typical soft marking
