Sigvard Bernadotte was the son of the Swedish king but carved out a career as one of Georg Jensen’s earliest collaborators. Greatly influenced by the functionalist movement prevalent at the time, his work is characterized by sophistication, elegance — but above all practicality. This beautiful jug, originally conceived by Bernadotte in 1938, has been transformed into a modern thermos. Expertly crafted from mirror-finished stainless steel, it features an insulated interior that keeps drinks warm or cold for up to 6 hours. After establishing his company in Copenhagen in 1904, Georg Jensen set out to create democratic designs possessing both functionality and beauty. Embracing the Art Nouveau lines of the day, his work is characterized by serene flowing forms enriched by exquisitely sculpted ornamentation and his own distinctive vigor. Those same ideas and principles of the master himself are translated into the Georg Jensen design of the present day. Designed by Prince Sigvard Bernad
