With a slight oiling to keep it pliable, the more you beat it, the more you will like it as it takes on its own unique personality. We don't usually wear a chin strap on these hats but we have set up a place to put one if you want. Occasionally rub in a quality leather dressing which will keep the leather pliable. Ensure that the leather is not subjected to extreme heat.
