The Celata basket was designed by Giulio Iacchetti, who was inspired by the helmets of medieval knights. The sallet (celata in Italian) protected their faces but enabled them to see out. The basket, created from a piece of cut sheet metal, reproduces the parts of this sallet, alternating large expanses of material with voids, and revealing games of lights and shadows.
