 
                                        GW Ancient Irish Bog Oak Fountain Pen
Retired Model The Ancient Irish Bog Oak fountain pen has a resin cap and section cast in-house to resemble shamrocks with bronze trim rings. The widest trim ring has a Celtic knot that partially wraps around the ring, with another on the contoured cap medallion. The bottom body finial is tied in using a bronze disc with the GW logo engraved. The wooden body is Oak pulled from a pest bog in Ireland. Bog Oak, as it’s come to be known, has been radiocarbon dated to be between 3,000-8,000 years old. Because it was submerged in this low oxygen environment, the wood was well preserved while slowly darkening until finally turning black all the way through. The wood has been stabilized and coated with a cyanoacrylate finish to fully seal the wood. The body is also lined with ebonite that extends out to form the cap threads.
