A history of the college presented via essay by many authors, and biographies of past and then-present faculty members. The "Record of Men" are accounts of students and graduates, and these are pp. 277-520. Originally founded in 1848 by the Reformed Lutheran minister Samuel K. Brobst as the Allentown Seminary, in 1867 it was renamed in honor of Henry Muhlenberg.
