By John Howard Hinton, Boston: 1846. This monument was built to honor the soldiers who died defending the city of Baltimore, September 12-14, 1814, during the War of 1812. It took ten years to complete, 1815-1825, and was designed by Maximilian Godefroy. Artist: W. Goodacre; engraved by Archer & Boilly.
