Stone & Co."  A superb copy of the first edition, first issue, with all of the proper points identified in BAL.   With a custom case in quarter leather, raised bands to case spine, title, author & date in gilt. A few small nicks to the case spine. Fine. Hardcover. BAL 13501.  First Printing with no printers imprint at p. [461]; p. 150 line 6...Noble's...; p. 334, last line - "lact....fata"; p. 401, line 11 - "Ask Her Maiesty," commanded the Captain,"  BINDING A with publisher's spine imprint in capital letters only; publisher's device on back cover. One of the Merle Johnson "High Spots of American Literature." Printed on watermarked paper.
