Pictured is a street shot from Namche Bazaar, Nepal, the Khumbu region’s most popular resting stop. Once a remote trading town, where Tibetans would cross the Himalayan mountains to trade salt and other goods, it now features outdoor gear shops, restaurants, hotels, and even an Irish pub. A woman in traditional clothing ascends the stairs, juxtaposing local heritage with modern tourism. The Anthropology collection celebrates the diversity of humanity and different walks of life all united in the quintessential simplicity of being part of one human race. By publishing the behaviors that might be different from place to place, I aim to highlight the relationship between culture and environment. Adjunctly, some characters we meet in our journeys of life are so compelling they deserve to have their stories told.
