This postcard was issued to commemorate the homecoming of the German Condor Legion which served with Francisco Franco's Nationalists during the Spanish Civil War of July 1936 to March 1939. There was also a special postmark (Inscribed "Geimkehr der Legion Condor" - 'Return of the Condor Legion'). Privately printed postcards without a double border and with no indicia stamp are known as "Propaganda Postcards". They required the addition of a valid stamp before they could be used and were generally issued to commemorate a political event.  Great find for history buffs.
