Upcycled antique hemp tunic no. 1 | HALL OF WONDERS
An antique French hemp tunic embellished with Deco print pockets and cuffs (used as epaulettes) salvaged from a 1930's shirt. Added pieces are edged with a primitive satin stitch to keep with the style of the shirt. Mel's Notes: The "chanvre" or hemp shirts from the early part of the 20th century are truly unlike any other garments I've ever handled or worn. They have a beautiful hand -- weighty and soft at the same time -- and seem to come with their own thermostat: They keep you warm in cool weather and cool in warm weather. fits up to size L Measurements (taken laid flat, seam to seam, doubled where necessary)Bust/Chest: 42"Waist: 43"Hip: openShoulder: 20"Sleeve length: 18.5"Overall length: 38" Workroom pieces may show signs of wear, mending, or idiosyncrasies unique to the antique and vintage textiles, trims and findings from which they're crafted.
