Lot Location: 6.7 This native ground cover has lovely white and lavender blossoms that give way to plum-looking seed pods. The foliage is a silver hue and quite pretty. It does best in well-drained soils, often the gravely soils that few other plants enjoy. Bees and other pollinators love its blooms. Great for rock gardens. It is a host plant for the Clouded Sulphur butterfly (a pale yellow butterfly with a unique black spot). Most common in the west and south part of Minnesota. Ground plum is also a nitrogen fixer which means it will improve soil health with time. Height: 12" Width: 10-18" Exposure: Sun Soil: Medium to Dry Bloom: May-June Zone: 3-6
