*This mug is a SECOND. Pottery is a high-risk, high-reward art form. There are always pieces that come out of the kiln with flaws. Pieces that have glaze running, glaze crawling, or warping but otherwise are still perfectly food-safe, just not up to our standards. Once these pieces stack up over the months, we clean them all up and offer them for sale as seconds. Seconds are sold as-is at a deep discount when they are available. Some of these flaws are extremely small and may not even be noticeable in pictures while others require significant sanding to smooth the glaze running.
