When the Malheur Company contacted mills across the country in search of a modern ragg wool maker, they learned that the fading textiles industry had taken their options with it. Through word of mouth and persistence the Malheur Co. Rag Wool Sweater is now proudly made in Massachusetts at a woolen mill dating back to the 1910s, officially bringing the fisherman's sweater back home.  Ragg wool is a distinctive mottled weave made from mixed strands of wool and nylon, increasing strength and heat retention and reducing drying time.
