Oreocereus celsianus - Old Man Cactus

Oreocereus celsianus Hairy and white, this columnar Old Man Cactus is about 4” thick with about 10 ribs－ not that you could see them because they are covered in silky white hairs. They have a lot of short golden radial spines that also hide beneath this hair but they have 1-4 sharp, central spines up to 2” long that will protrude through its fuzzy exterior. This Andean old man grows at a fairly rapid rate; it loves alkaline soil, but it hates moisture during cool cold weather.
