Tecoma hybrid - Red Bells Red Bells is a fast-growing, well-behaved, heat-tolerant, colorful blooming shrub. The bright flowers are medium-sized, bell-shaped, dark orange to nearly red, that are formed in large clusters at the branch tips. Leaves are dark green. They provide flushes of blooms from spring to fall. Plants can freeze back with temps around 25-30°F, but will recover quickly after stems are cut back to the ground. They are root hardy to around 10°-15°F.  We got starts of this plant years ago from our good friend and Tecoma breeder, George Hull, who was an adjunct professor at ASU. Red Bells is a semi-dwarf, sterile hybrid, which keeps them blooming longer and they rarely produce any dirty seed pods.
