16x20in "Sailing the Storm"

This special 16x20in was part of the Ship Shape II exhibition at Gallery X in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Gallery X saved me a length of old rope from the Schooner Ernestina to create this framed rope art. I also added small lengths of discarded fishing and lobster trap rope. All of this rope has been previously used, thoroughly cleaned, and sun dried in Fairhaven, Massachusetts. I built the frame using rustic cedar and painted it with Kirby Paint Co. flat white paint. The rope art is protected under a piece of solid glass. Comes with story card and signature.
