size 3/4” Described as a Plesiophrictus species in 1915 by British arachnologist Frederic Henry Gravely. It wouldn’t be until almost 100 years later until genus Sahydroaraneus would be established where this spider currently resides as the type species. Reaching 2-3 inches as adults, this uncommon species is known from the Chimmini Wildlife Sancturayarea in Thrissur district, Western Ghats of India.
