Lopez de Heredia’s 2014 Viña Bosconia Reserva is old-school Rioja with fresh energy: red cherry and orange peel, a hint of cedar and leather, and that mouth-watering snap that makes food taste better. Crafted from estate fruit and aged for years, it’s bold, honest, and seriously drinkable. "The 2014 Viña Bosconia is 80% Tempranillo with 10% Garnacha, 5% Graciano and 5% Mazuelo from the El Bosque vineyard in Haro, Rioja. Garnet in hue, it opens with cassis, cola and oak-driven aromas. The palate is youthful and smooth, with well-integrated tannins, black fruit and anisette at the finish. Still growing, it’ll develop greater complexity with more time in bottle." - 94 points, Joaquín Hidalgo, Vinous MagVarieties: Tempranillo (~80%), Garnacha (~10%), Graciano (~5%), Mazuelo (~5%)Region: Haro, Rioja Alta, Spain — from the El Bosque vineyard area near the Ebro RiverVolume: 750 mlAlcohol: 13.5% ABVSoil: The soil is a mixture of clay and limestone, and the average age of the vines is 40 years
