Dark and cool forests are spread across Dinétah, our ancestral homeland. In the mountains there are a wide spread of ponderosa pines, junipers, pinons, willows, cottonwoods, and aspens. The forests protect us and give us a sense of safety and well-being. Journeying through them can be chilling at first, on the various unpaved roads and sheepherding trails with not a soul for miles. However after spending some time in our forests, one feels a sense of calmness with the beauty and strength of nature. We made this shirt to carry on that feeling of protection and strength brought by our forests.
