US Comet 2020 Hops

Comet has an intriguing parentage of English Sunshine and a Native American hop, bringing out a “Wild American” taste. It was released in 1974 by the USDA, originally bred to sustain the needs for higher alpha hops. The flavor profile presents a strong accent of grapefruit, tangerine and herbal elements while featuring solid bittering capabilities. In the past brewers considered it well suited for bittering in American-Style lagers. Recently there has been a surge in its use as a dry-hop in ales and IPA’s.
