Fairy Wand (Chamaelirium luteum)Fairy Wand Family Fairy Wand is a small, but uniquely beautiful woodland plant that is rare in cultivation. The plant has a solitary, slender stem that rises gracefully from a rosette of basal leaves.  The flowering structure is a slender, spike-like raceme that extends from the top of the stem, bearing small, greenish-white flowers that are tubular and arranged in a delicate spiral. The leaves are lance-shaped and arranged alternately along the stem, often with a slight sheen. It has separate male and female plants with the male flowers being larger and the spike often curved downward from the tip. Male and female plants are equally attractive. Plant in full to part shade in rich, moist woodland soil for best results.
