LB-480A

The LB-480A is the automatic version of the LB-480. (We know, the A gave it away). The LB-480A has a built in electrical contact relay to turn the pump on and off instead of a mechanical float switch. What's the difference? Allow us to enlighten you. The electrical contact relay is comprised of two stainless steel electrodes molded in resin and housed in a rubber casing on the side of the pump body. When liquid rises and contacts the electrodes, the LB-480A turns on. When the liquid drops below the electrodes, the pump continues pumping for 60 seconds, then it turns off. Brilliant. This is special because the standard mechanical float switch requires extra room in the sump in order to swing up and down with the rise and fall of the liquid. The LB-480A doesn't require such nonsense. All you need is a space big enough to fit the pump into (approximately 8-3/4 inches to be exact) and that's it. No moving parts required!
