Sabian JACK DEJOHNETTE ENCORE Hihats 14” DRY ARTICULATE! Very Rare 1016 1498 g ICONIC!

Some of my favorite hihats:  Sabian JACK DEJOHNETTE 14” ENCORE Hihats. And they’re very hard to find these days! (RIP legend!)  And this pair is very dry and articulate!  These specific 14s” have a rare mixture of dry, crisp, extremely articulate but they’re surprisingly organic. They’re tight but have a dry complexity. They’re a rare combination of crisp and smoky. The opposite of Brilliant. The dynamo behind a colorful pallet of unique cymbals and sounds, it’s no wonder Jack threaded the needle between two traditionally opposite tones. Natural 2 decade-old patina blanketing a factory Pre-Aged Sandblasted Finish (yes, long before the Meinls) with a 1016 and 1498 gram weight for a phenomenal sounding CHICK tone. Of course they excel in jazz, but they breathe life into anything with soul. Not like anything else on the market - but what else would we expect from such a legend. Mellowed and aged to perfection. And long discontinued.
