Geistliche lieder

This Vermeer release, a collection of songs by C.P.E. Bach, Wq194, Beethoven, op. 48 (both to texts by C. F. Gellert) and Schubert (on texts by Novalis), features Italian soprano Laura Fabris and her compatriot Carlo Mazzoli on fortepiano. The accompanying detailed notes, in Italian and English, written by Ms. Fabris, also include a bit of interesting editorial writing by C.P.E. Bach himself. In addition to her vocal studies, Ms. Fabris is a former piano student of her accompanist and is herself a voice teacher today. Mr. Mazzoli teaches piano and fortepiano at the Conservatory of Bologna.
