These recordings, made on the Welte Philharmonie Organ in the Museum for Musical Automations in Seewen, are dedicated to improvisation.; Improvisation held a special and immovable place in organ and piano music of the 19th century. This freer style of playing also existed in modern music, particularly in the organist community, but slowly receded into the background of the music industry.; All improvisations on this recording are performed by German and British organists.
