BOOK - repress After being out of print for close to 10 years, American hardcore history bookBanned in DC: Photos and Anecdotes from the DC Punk Underground (79-85) is coming back to shelves, and with a few extra goodies. An expanded edition of the early punk scene-documenting tome from Cynthia Connolly, Leslie Clague and Sharon Cheslow lands June 23 via Sun Dog Propaganda Press. A press release explains that this is the seventh pressing of the book, which had originally been released back in 1988. The sixth run, delivered in 2005, had been believed to be the last, as the negatives that were used to make the printing plates had deteriorated drastically to the point that they were basically unusable. Following much demand, photographer/curator Connolly recreated the book digitally before sending it off to be reprinted.
