Rescued Painting - Thankful For You

16 x 20 canvas on wood frame. Gratitude for the ones you love. This original painting was painted by my best friend.   She was disappointed with how it turned out and asked me to "please take it" because she didn't want to look at it.  Every time she saw it she felt bad about herself.  I felt bad at first, taking it from her.  As if this somehow meant that I agreed with her about how awful she thought it was ... which I did not.  Also I didn't want to be (by my actions) agreeing that she should feel bad about herself every time she sees it ... because I don't believe her worth or value has anything to do with the painting.  I soon realized that doing as she asked, and "turning it into something beautiful" really was going to make her feel better.  Reluctantly at first, I brought the painting home, and then lovingly created this message with her in mind.  I spent most of my years not praying but eventually came to understand that prayers of gratitude were a thing.
